This is a unique personal item of Kurt's to own as you rarely come across anything in relation to his personal life and outside his rock career. This document which is 8.5" x 11" in size is from Progressive Companies Insurance basically to remove Courtney Cobain from their existing policy as Progressive dropped her from their coverage. Kurt signed and executed his signature on January 21, 1994, 74 days before his untimely death. What is also rare about this piece that is seldom seen is that it is a full signature of Cobain which most have never even seen. The common signature you see "out there" of his, which to find his signature to even begin with is extremely rare, is the one where he just writes (not signs) his name "KURT".

We acquired this piece from a big Kurt Cobain fanatic who in addition had the driver's insurance ID card of his and his wife. The ID card (which was effective from October 1992 to October of 1993) was for his 1963 Plymouth Valiant which was his first car he owned and also the very car he lived out of before he blew up as a rock star. We were told this policy is for that car as the 2 were found together as a pair. We have that ID car (most likely) still available and can be found on our online store on this website. We have included a picture of that ID car in this listing but please be aware, this listing for this document DOES NOT include the card which is being sold separately on our store. The document in this frame, removed Courtney Cobain from their coverage and his particular policy, and Kurt is being made aware (as the policyholder) of Progressive's decision to remove her from their coverage. 

We can't reiterate it enough, Cobain was a very difficult signature to obtain, especially a nice dark bold signature of his, as most autographs out there of him just have his name written as "KURT". Finding a full signature of his is extremely difficult, and you may only find them on things like this where it is a document that requires his full name signed out. If you do your research, you will see these do not surface and this may be one of the very first ones to be available for sale.
